Not what it seems...

The unit works well enough for a small home theater unit, but be forewarned, it has HDMIswitching only! It does not take digital audio from HDMI, your digital sources must be connected via optical or coax to get audio. Very, VERY poor design. It will only handle VIDEO thru HDMI, NOT digital audio! BEWARE!

Even for the money this receiver should be off your list. There is NO SUPPORT for DTS Surround sound. At this day and age this is inexcusable. Since virtually all Blu-Ray discs and many DVD movies and concerts come with DTS, why bother. Find something else with DTS support (even the older DTS standard is better than none). That being said, if you are going to use this in a non-home theater application and will not use surround, then it is not bad at all. The sound quality is descent and at least you can install a powered sub-woofer to use with it.

Great sound and versatile

This receiver puts out good power and sound quality. The inputs and outputs allow for a lot of different setups. Two things to be aware of is that you need to connect a powered subwoofer and the volume buttons on the remote are ridiculously small and not easily found in low light.
