Good amp, but nothing fancy

This amp is a solid piece of equipment and works wonderfully for my 4x400 watt speakers. It's currently being used in a frat house and has survived frat life beautifully for as long as we've had it, which is more than I can say for our previous amps. It's well built overall. All the contacts are solid and the sound quality is good, but not mind-blowing. If you need lots of power, don't want to spend lots of money, and don't need any fancy features, this is the amp for you.

So I will go over the pro's and con's of this reciever in a moment but first i must say that i am extremely happily with this purchase. I am a soon-to-be collage student and this plus my turntable is gonna be great in my room. It looks freaking amazing, has RCA inputs, one front input for ipods and what knot and had 2 outputs, one for line-out(for like amplifiers) and then a record line. It comes with a remote that is freaking awesome as well. It also has speakers a and speakers b. Which is useful for setting up multiple speakers. I current have 10 connected to mine.Pro's*Actually has the power to back its name up. Like other reviews have said, made my little 6x9's bump pretty hard considering how small they are.*Has outputs for other things, My 2 12's are hooked up via the outputs on the back with their own amplifier and its great!*Looks freaking cool*built really sturdy*cooling fan is silent*Has remote*Has FM tuner with antennas*easy to use interface*great price*extremely fast shipping. I chose 3-8 day shipping and i got it the next day.*has front input jack*has 8 DPS pre-settingsCon's*everytime you turn it off, your settings, like bass and treable are reset. I have no idea why but its not that big of deal.*This is the good 'ol background hiss from amplifiers, and it is present. Now i have everything and its step-mother plugged into the same socket so mine may be a bit louder than usual but if a noticeable hiss is going to turn you away, i wont lie. Its there.*takes about 2 seconds to "boot-up"Over all i would say this thing is worth around 200 bucks and ive dealt with audio stuff for a good long time. So for a hundred dollars, you CANNOT GO WRONG. IT isnt a 400 dollar reciever but it isnt a 100 dollar reciever.

Awesome power.

This receiver makes my old one look sick and that one was strong enough at 120 watts x4. I have kick ass KLH speakers and this receiver pushes them prodigiously. I have yet to turn the volume over 28 while playing CDs because there's no reason to. The power this thing omits is remarkable and I have been very satisfied with it. I am a Heavy Metal/Hard Rock fan so I always want something that can seriously produce and this receiver can do it. Those KLH speakers are top of the line but I am sure this receiver could actually blow them if I tried to. There's no sub-woofer input on the back like my old (still have it for another room) receiver had because you don't need a sub with this thing as long as you have capable speakers that can thump. I have been assembling stereo systems for over 20 years now and this receiver has my approval. If you buy it, make sure you have awesome speakers that can handle it! We are talking about 1500 watts of power!
