This item worked well, just like explained. I originally bought this item because I thought I could just plug it in my car USB port. The two are not compatible.

This was bought for a Christmas gift. He said that it works fine, but that the distance is limited to approximately 10 feet. I do not remember seeing a recommended distance in the description, it would be nice to have that information. But all in all, I was happy with the product, because I could not find it on the shelf, locally.
