The PT4601AIU is a powerful home pre-amplifier that’s been updated for the 21st century - now with support for USB, SD cards, and your iPod or iPhone. Now you can charge your iDevice while playing it back or while using the stereo RCA input on the back. This pre-amp is also equipped with an AM/FM radio with auto-seek and capable of storing up to 50 radio station presets. With a maximum output of 500 watts, the PT4601AIU has the power to fill your room with sound. On the front, two 1/4" microphone inputs allow you to sing along to your music, making the PT4601AIU the perfect amplifier for karaoke parties. You can even add an echo effect to your voices. Outputs include banana-plug speaker terminals, plus two mono RCA outputs dedicated for the subwoofer output, which has its own separate gain control. Control multiple sets of speakers with the A/B speaker out switch. The digital fluorescent display on the front beautifully displays the levels of the input audio. 110 and 220 V switchable.

Works and sounds okay, except for a noisy fan, but the controls are not user friendly and the instructions non-existent as to how to pre-set the radio channels. I can usually figure these things out, but not this time, and the Pyle company did not respond to my request for instructions.Pyle prides itself on affordable merchandise, but it may not be worth it when they cut corners on design, instructions, and customer support.

The first thing you notice when you look at this stereo tuner is how highly technical it looks. However it is such a breeze to use. The analog controls are straight forward, and the selects and inputs are direct and simple to understand. However, the screen is sharp digital displays, with power level indications and all that. It even allows me to play music out of my iPod or iPhone, and keeps them tuned up just as well. You just can't beat the whole package once you get playing with it.

First thing you notice is the fan noise. Holy cow, that's loud. Fortunately for me this is going in a workout room where I would expect the music to be playing louder than the fan noise, but it's pretty significant. I have to echo the previous comment that saving radio stations is not intuitive or easy. For a receiver, its alright. Not spectacular, but works fine. I don't really like the iPhone axillary cord. I'd prefer an auxiliary input so I could get an extra long cord to run my iPhone through the receiver from the elliptical.
