Technical Pro’s HYBRID technology is the answer to all of your needs. The HB2502U is a combined Amplifier / Pre-amplifier / Tuner built with the same quality design you would expect from Technical Pro’s superior technology. Pushing out 2500 watts of peak power and hosting a 7.2 channel up conversion this unit will exceed all expectations. The 7.2 channel up conversion will allow you to connect your iPod or USB sound device (normally outputting only two channels) and output to seven speakers and two powered subwoofers. Multiple source inputs allow front panel connections for a USB flash drive, SD Card, and an MP3 / iPod music player.n addition to a two channel and 5.1 channel RCA input on the back. The banana binding post outputs can connect up to four full range speakers in addition to the push button surround outputs for the surround sound speaker set up, two RCA outputs for a record line out and pre-amp output that can be used to control another amplifier. Complete with a designated preamplifier volume control and 2 mono RCA outputs for not only 1, but 2 subwoofers. The face provides separate gain controls for the pre-amplifier and subwoofer outputs giving you additional control over the frequency outputs. I bought this amp for powering my home theater. I have 2 amps one from a different brand. I'm using the 2502U to drive 2 Polk Audio RTI A7 (Zone A) and CSI A6 (Zone B). I have connected CSI A6 to the Zone B. This is a decent amp for the pricePros:Good enough to drive my RTI A7s and CSI A6Remote controlDedicated volume control for the SUBSUB out quality is better than P3201ATU.Banana plugs for Zone A & B speaker output5.1 channel RCA input7.2 channel Output (including 2 LFE Sub out)No Humming noiseLess expensive compared with other major brands (I really wonder what is there in a $2k preamp)Cons:Hiss sound when turned on, no matter what the volume is 0db or 64dbSub woofer makes a thundering noise when turning off this amp. Have to turn down the SUB prior to turning off the amp.Always turns on at 20db volume level, wold be great if it can remember the last volume settingVolume control increases 2 db/step. I would prefer 1db/step like my other amp.Have to hold the remote control in direct view and less than 10 feet. Hoping to solve the problem with my Universal remote RF20No power on/off option in Remote controlWith USB and SD card input sound quality is very bad.The quality of iPOD/MP3 input is not great. May be I should try changing the OP Amp like someone else did. Haven't cracked open it yet.The audio level display is a joke. My set up has a windows 7 P.C that is my audio and video repository. It is a regular stereo output connected to 2 dbx 231 EQs viacustom made 5.1 audio switch. One EQ is conected to 2502U to drive Front and center speakers and the second EQ connected to my other amp to drive my rear speakers. 5.1 analogoutput from my DVD player is connected to the EQ via custom made 5.1 anolog audio switch. I have a SVS SB12-NSD sub connected directly to the stereo output of my computer or DVDplayer. It sounds really great in this setup. It sounds like very complicated??? But it is not.

Works good, warranty less than good

The unit worked well and performed without flaw for some time. I understand things break and this unit had an issue. The rear speaker outputs stopped working. OK, I emailed the company and they sent me the information for the return. Now that I have that information I need to email someone else to get an RMA. OK, can we make this a little more difficult? I understand having to pack it up and ship it. I even understand having to pay for the shipping. But I have to pay to have the unit returned to me after they fix it??? I will not buy another product from this company. There are just to many hoops to jump through to get the warranty taken care of.

Good fm reception, plus the needed ports and computer interfaces i need. Hard to find amfm reciever in these days of mega entertainment centers and stand alone components. Good sound and lots of capability
